Dr. S. Surees Kumar joined the Department of General Surgery at Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, Coimbatore. He then got trained in Upper and Lower Gastrointestinal Diagnostic Endoscopy. Later he got trained in General Laparoscopic Surgery and Laparoscopic Hernia Surgery from various renowned institutions in India. He further enhanced his skills by attending several international and national workshops in various disciplines of general and laparoscopic surgery. He is a teaching faculty in General Surgery and thesis guide for the post graduates undergoing Diplomate in National Board course in General Surgery at Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, Coimbatore. He has several publications to his credit in indexed international and national journals.

Dr.S.Surees Kumar is well trained in all the general surgical procedures like Diagnostic Endoscopy, Kidney Transplant Surgeries, Surgeries for Benign and Malignant Lesions of Salivary Glands, Thyroid, Breast, Gastrointestinal, Hepatopancreaticobiliary and Genitourinary Systems, Polytrauma and Burns.

His special interests are in surgeries pertaining to Thyroid, Breast, All Types of Hernias, Gastrointestinal System, Varicose Veins, Diabetic Foot, Minimal Access Surgeries. He devotes his expertise to managing acute surgical cases requiring tertiary and skills. He is also proficient in surgeries for varicose veins, diabetic foot, cellulitis, abscess, ulcers, necrotizing fascitis, amputation for extremity gangrene, operations for soft tissue lesions such as lipoma, sebaceous cyst, and skin grafting.

Besides this, all other emergency surgeries (24×7) including polytrauma, trauma to neck, chest, abdomen, and routine pediatric and simple plastic surgeries are also done by him on a routine basis.
